The Training Curriculum
This curriculum, Coaching to Win, was developed as the Share Yourself program mentor training by the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Program at North Carolina A&T State University.
The training content is based on research in the development of mentoring relationships and literature related to coaching to develop individual potential. The literature suggests that the following components should be considered in developing effective mentors of adults: relationship building, information sharing, facilitating the development and achievement of goals, developing problem-solving skills, confronting unproductive behaviors, and focusing on job success.
