As an Extension specialist and researcher, the vast percentage of his time has been devoted to:

• development of small-scale livestock production technologies and resource information for use with small and part-time farmers, and farmers with limited resources in North Carolina and the Southeast
• farm income diversification through the production of feeder pigs, rabbits, sheep and meat goats
