Two A&T Students Tie for Top Honor Greensboro, NC: Two students in the Food Science and Nutrition Program at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University tied for top honors at a recent regional conference. Tami Culmer and Theresa Lloyd tied for first place in the category of student research papers at the Southern Section of the Institute of Food Technologists meeting in Fort Worth, Texas. Lloyd, a second-year graduate student from Raeford, presented a paper entitled, Growth and Survival of E. coli 0157:H7 in Solid Fortified Skim Milk Stored at Low Temperatures. Her advisor is Dr. Salam Ibrahim, an assistant professor in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. Culmer, a first-year graduate student from the Bahamas, presented a paper entitled, Supercritical CO2 Extraction of Fats from Ground Raw and Freeze-Dried Beef. Her advisor is Dr. Chung Seo, a professor in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences.
