Turner Nominated to State Energy Advisory Board

Greensboro, NC: Dr. Carolyn Turner, associate professor in the
North Carolina A&T State University Department of Human Environment and Environmental
Sciences, was recently appointed to the State Energy Advisory Board by U.S. Secretary of
Energy Bill Richardson.
The Board makes recommendations to the Assistant Secretary of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy regarding energy efficiency goals and objectives, and programmatic and administrative policies related to the state grant programs; serves as a liaison between the states and the United States Department of Energy; and encourages the transfer of the results of research and development activities carried out by the federal government with respect to energy efficiency and renewable energy resources.
Turner has been a housing researcher at A&T since 1982. Her recent research has focused on energy efficiency in manufactured housing.
