Successful Small Farming - Direct Marketing
Program Description:
This program offers educational resources through the North Carolina Cooperative Extension system to improve the direct marketing skills of limited-resource farmers. The program also helps these farmers increase their income, work together to build successful farmers' markets and build strong local community-agricultural connections. It provides informal educational experiences of successful direct marketing to farmers via practice, discussions, role plays, planning and implementation. The program provides a means of monitoring and reporting results, and uses evaluation for constant program improvement.
Target audience:
Farmers and other direct marketers.
Goals and Objectives:
To provide increased income for farmer marketers and to enhance sustainable community-agricultural relations.
Provide an educational program for field faculty with materials to help marketers develop successful skills grounded in:
1. knowledge of what marketing is and how to go about it,
2. market planning, and
3. implementation of successful marketing and production systems.
