North Carolina A&T Agricultural Teleproductions offers other state agencies and nonprofit groups, as well as other departments within the university, complete satellite videoconferencing facilities and services.

Revolutionary advances in telecommunications technologies have lowered costs so that satellite uplink andUplink satellite dish video conferences are not only viable, but often a cost effective alternative to travel costs, and print and other communications media. With its capacities for reaching audiences across North America, A&T satellite network technology can provide you services for:

  • Workshops and training programs
  • Telecourses (noncredit and certification, as well as academically accredited)
  • Kickoffs for fund-raising and public awareness campaigns
  • Professional conferences

Capacities include:

A 3.5-meter Ku-Band satellite uplink dish with both transmission and reception capabilities

Incorporation with ADEC, Ku-Band to C-Band transponder turnaround technology, which enables programs originating from A&T to be available on C Band for home satellite dishes and other receiving sites.

The 150-seat Webb Hall Auditorium and, for smaller groups, a 35-seat classroom ­ both are fully equipped for viewing downlinks and interactive conferences.

Audioconferencing connectivity, which can be used for fax and computer links, as well as to provide telephone connections between uplink and downlink sites (toll-free dial-in service is also an option for satellite uplinks originating at A&T)

A start-to-finish video production facility at the C.H. Moore Agricultural Research Facility, which can be used by clients wishing to uplink a live presentation or a pre-recorded program

Rates

Fees charged for facilities and services for satellite downlinks, uplinks and videoconferencing services are on a cost-recovery basis. Production costs for live presentation and pre-recorded programs provided by Agricultural Communications are in addition to fees for satellite communications services.
