Pork Industry " with William Amponsah, The Impact of Upcoming Multilateral Trade Negotiations on Southern Agricultural Products, forth coming. (Last update: 04/10/1999) The general objective of the course will be to review economic policy as it relates to trade in agricultural commodities. Linkages among commodity programs, and monetary, fiscal, and trade policies will be analyzed. The implications of alternative agricultural and related trade policies for the U.S. and other countries in an interdependent world will also be examined. An attempt will be made to comprehend the roles of international institutions (such as IMF, World Bank, UNCTAD, etc.), and multilateral and regional trade agreements (e.g., The GATT, WTO and NAFTA). Finally, elements of strategic trade policy will be addressed. Research Paper: Environmental Kuznets Curves, Property Rights, and Learning, with Bruce Yandle, supported by the Charles D.
