Currently serving as an assistant professor of agricultural education for undergraduate and graduate students; specific courses taught include instructional technology, adult education, leadership, curriculum and program development, public policy, and program evaluation. Other duties include recruitment, research, and serving on school, departmental and university committees.
Duties included, researching and developing curriculum materials for Missouri Agriculture Teachers.
Responsibilities included transcribing lesson plans and teaching materials into web format developing Agricultural Education 430 Grant Proposal Writing into an online course.
Tennessee State University Extension Small Farmers Program, responsibilities included; Organizing and teaching workshops, provided personal financial assistance, developed farm plans for small farmers, assembled loan packages for Rural Development (RD) loans, determined eligibility for Natural Resources and Conservation Service (NRCS) conservation programs, organized and advised purchasing associations & cooperatives.
Responsibilities included: Analyzing financial positions of applicants to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money. Other duties included conducting credit history investigations and farm appraisals.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE:
Assisted teachers and substituted for Agricultural Education Career and technical, special education and Music classes.
Assisted in teaching a web-based course that teaches preparation of proposals designed to solicit grant funding to support teaching, research, or outreach programs. Responsibilities include designing content, constructing exams, and leading discussions.
Instructed students ranging in age from 6-14, about food safety and agricultural awareness; the course focused on the role agriculture has to the community and the steps taken to insure safe food. Students also learned how to safely, handle, prepare and store food as well as how to spot potential dangers while shopping.
Safe Food Handling In the Home, an adult course that teaches how to safely handle food during preparation and storage as well as how to shop safely.
