Minnesota farm management conference gets concepts from Coltrane
Mary Mafuyai-Ekanem of The Cooperative Extension Program was
among the presenters at the 2007 National Farm Management Conference, June 11-14 in Rochester, Minn. Mafuyai-Ekanem’s presentation was "Farm Management Strategies in My Community," and the focus was on A&T Extension’s support and assistance for minority, female and beginning farmers as they try to manage small farms in North Carolina.
The conference was a joint effort of three organizations: the National Association of Farm Business Analysis Specialists, the National Farm & Ranch Business Management Educators Association, and the North Central Farm Management Extension Committee. Mafuyai-Ekanem is serving on the board of directors for the NAFBAS, a non-profit corporation that provides an idea exchange network for farm business analysts, and works to extend the profession’s resources to other farm support agencies.
