Nutrition educators from Wheeling to Wilmington converge on Raleigh

calendar iconStephanie Tatum, nutrition program outreach coordinator for The Cooperative Extension Program at A&T, was one of the organizers of an inaugural conference for members of county field staffs from Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina who are working to deliver nutrition education to families with limited financial resources. The Cooperative Extension Nutrition Assistants Tri-State Conference took place in Raleigh May 14-17. The conference itinerary included sessions on customer service skills, a program that uses nutrition concepts to teach children and teens math and science, and highlights of research supporting nutrition education for families trying to simultaneously stretch budgets and avoid the health risks of uninformed food purchases and unbalanced diets.
