Time to evaluate your health insurance options
The annual enrollment period for the North Carolina State Health Plan closes on March 31. If you do not have health insurance coverage for dependents or if you are completely satisfied with the dependent coverage (and costs) that you currently have, then nothing is required of you during the annual enrollment period. Your coverage will continue as is. But ... if you are paying for health insurance coverage for dependents and would like to compare costs and conditions for the NC Smart Choice Preferred Provider Organization and other options, then you have until March 31 to evaluate programs and authorize changes. (Dependent insurance can be changed at anytime during the year that there’s a marriage, birth or another qualifying event.)
All full-time SAES employees should by now have received a packet with information on their current health insurance program as well as a booklet with details on all the programs, coverage and costs. If you haven’t received a packet, contact Human Resources. Changes made during the Annual Enrollment will become effective July 1.
