What a Valentine’s Day card

On Valentine’s Day Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns announced that 11 students from land-grant universities had been invited to Washington to participate in discussions of agriculture's future at USDA's 2007 Agricultural Outlook Forum  March 1 and 2 . Selected students are juniors and seniors majoring in agricultural-related studies and their tickets to Washington were based on essays they submitted that explained, "Why I Want a Career in Agriculture." The winners include LeAnn Rutledge, an A&T junior majoring in Earth and Environmental Science.

The theme for the 2007 Agricultural Outlook Forum is "Agriculture at the Crossroads: Energy, Farm and Rural Policy." Plenary session speeches will be webcast after 3:30 p.m. on March 1. Speeches and PowerPoint presentations will be posted online at the end of each day's session.
