FCS students sharing experiential insights

Community service projects are required of students in Dr. Rosa Purcell's senior seminars and Dr. Thessalenuere Hinnant-Bernard’s Integrative Approaches to Family & Consumer Sciences classes. Students enrolled in these courses will be giving poster presentations covering an interesting array of community service projects in the Godfrey Multipurpose Room in Coltrane Hall on Monday, May 1, and their FCS instructors are inviting all their colleagues on the SAES faculty to drop by to see what their students have been up to. The poster presentations for students in Purcell’s senior seminar will begin at 9 a.m. Student poster presentations for Hinnant Bernard’s class will begin at 3 p.m.

Another member of the Family and Consumer Sciences faculty, Dr. Valerie Jarvis McMillan, requires graduating seniors in the Child Development and Family Studies Program to do oral presentations on projects student interns completed for the benefit of their community-based internship site. These presentations will be from 9 to 11 a.m. in Price Hall Annex Child Development Laboratory on Wednesday, May 3. These presentations are also open to the entire SAES faculty.
