Yeboah’s arc

Two of the American Agricultural Economics Association’s interest groups, the Food and Agricultural Marketing Policy Section and the S-1016 Regional Research Committee on Trade and Domestic Policy, were co-hosts for a conference on “Guiding Food and Agricultural Marketing Policy in the Face of Changing Market Structures” March 21 and 22 in Arlington, Va. At the conference, Dr. Osei Yeboah, director of the SAES International Trade Center, was elected to a two-year term as research director for the S-1016 Regional Research Committee on Trade and Domestic Policy.

Yeboah will be advising the group on issues ripe for multi-state research proposals to USDA’s Cooperative States Research, Extension and Education and Service. Among the research subjects already on his list of recommendations are requests from commodity groups for the forthcoming Farm Bill that will reflect commodity trade protection agreements made at the World Trade Organization conference this spring.

It was impressive to read of Dr. Yeboah's election as research director for the S-1016 research committee. Having ever worked under his supervision, it was not surprising to read of these achievements. I applaud Dr. Yeboah's acumen and urge him to keep going in the very important field of Agribussiness, b'cos you are a mentor and a source of motivation to many of us, younger folks!
