The SAES’s interim dean, Dr. Donald McDowell, will be hosting the annual academic year kickoff meeting for faculty and staff from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12 in the Webb Hall Auditorium.
The SAES meeting will put the finishing touches on an entire day of academic year kickoff activities. Beginning at 10 a.m. in Harrison Auditorium, Dr. Alton Thompson, interim provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs, will be introducing new employees and Chancellor Harold Martin will deliver his first State of the University Address at the university-wide Faculty and Staff Institute. The program will be followed with a free meal for faculty and staff in Williams Cafeteria from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. From 1:45 to 3 p.m., and following lunch, there will be faculty discussion of A&T’s Southern Association of Schools and Colleges (SACS) accreditation in Harrison Auditorium. Dr. Lea E. Williams, associate vice chancellor for Institutional Planning, Assessment and Research, will facilitate the discussion.
