- B.S. North Carolina A&T State University
- M.S. North Carolina State University
- Ph.D. North Carolina State University
EXPERTISE:
Soil and Water Engineering (Water Resources
Engineering)
RESEARCH:
- Herbicide Movement in Relation to Tillage
and Control Traffic of Typical Piedmont Soils of North Carolina.
- Evaluating the Performance of Soil Erosion
Models Under Different Tillage Systems.
Other Research Interests:
- To evaluate a water management model (Drainmod)
for topical conditions.
- To evaluate soil erosion models (EPIC, RUSLE,
GLEAMS, WEEP) for Piedmont regions of North Carolina.
- Water resouces development and management--water
re-use, irrigation timing efficiencey, and drainage.
- Remote sensing for soil water availability
and plant stress.
CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT:
Enhance the Agricultural Engineering
curriculum through the integration of the sciences
technology, GIS and hands-on laboratory techniques
undergirded with the use of computers.
Courses Taught:
Soil and water engineering courses with emphasis in the
areas of hydrology, irrigation, drainage, pumps and well
development, water distribution and water use efficiency,
saturated and unsaturated flow, water quality and
management. Hydrogeology:groundwater flow and aquifer
characteristics; confined and unconfined aquifers. Other
activities include curriculum upgrade and project
management.
